Day 1. Welcome to Delhi!
Arrive in New Delhi, the capital of India! You will be met at the airport and then transferred to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure acclimating to this dynamic city.

Day 2. Delhi
Today, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi by India's favorite form of transportation, the rickshaw! Pass ancient forts, fragrant spice markets, and elaborate tombs. You'll visit the raj Ghat, a memorial to Gandhi, the drive past India Gate and the Government Secretariat buildings on the way to Qutab Minar.Â

Zip through the old city by rickshaw and begin your tour at the Red Fort, a 300-year-old walled city built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648 as his capital. The magnificent fort built of red sandstone dates from the very peak of the Mughal power and served as the royal residence until 1857. Opposite the fort is the black and white dome and minarets of the Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque. Drive past the ruins of Feroz Shah Kotla fort with the Ashokan Pillar dating back to 3rd BC, and end your old city tour with a visit to Raj Ghat where Mahatma Gandhi was laid to rest in 1948.
In New Delhi, visit the capital designed by Sir Edward Lutyens and drive past the Presidential Palace, the Rashtrapati Bhawan and the secretariat buildings - the center of all government activity. Here you'll see Qutab Minar, representing the first Islamic monument that marked a shift of power in the country. While exclusively Islamic in conception, its execution was the work of Hindus, and its unique designs accompany arabesque verses of the Quran, in a synthesis of two distinct styles meeting for the first time.
Day 3. Delhi - Agra
Today you will be transferred from Dehli to Agra, a city situated on the west bank of the River Yamuna and part of the great Northern Indian plains. The architectural splendor of the city is reflected in the glorious monuments of medieval India built by great Mughals who ruled India for more than 300 years.

En route, you'll visit Abhaneri Village, a popular stop along the Agra-Jaipur road for the impressive Chand Baori stepwell and the Harshat Mata Temple. After a long day of exploration, you might like to head to the Raj Mandir Cinema to experience the glamour of a Bollywood film.
A Tip For Your Trip: The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

Day 5. Jaipur
Today you will tour four of Jaipur's most iconic landmarks: the Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal. This afternoon, you can explore independently! We suggest a trip to Jaipur's Royal City Palace. Â
Tonight, you'll enjoy a meal and folk dance at a local restaurant.Â

Visit Amber Fort and Hawa Mahal! In the morning, your first stop is Amber Fort. Amber Fort is set on a hilltop overlooking Maota Lake and offers an authentic example of Rajput architecture. Step into the Sheesh Mahal, or Hall of Mirrors, to experience one of the fort's most spectacular buildings. After, stop at the Palace of Winds, or Hawa Mahal. The beehive-like structure is made of pink and red sand stone and makes for a great photo opportunity!
Day 6. Jaipur - Delhi
Spend your last morning in Jaipur picking up souvenirs at a local bazaar and enjoy a cup of spicy, sweet chai. Later in the day, you'll be transferred back to Delhi for a one night stay.

Day 7. Delhi - Paro - Thimphu
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Delhi airport for your flight to Bhutan! Once you arrive in Bhutan's capital of Thimphu, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. As the capital of Bhutan and the center of government, religion and commerce, Thimphu is a city with a unique mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions.
Fun fact: with a population of about 90,000, Thimphu is the world’s only capital without a traffic light!
In the evening, drive to Kuensel Phodrang, (Buddha Point) is the place from where one can get a complete view of the town of Thimphu. The point has the largest statue of the Buddha.Â

Day 8. Thimphu
Wake up early for a morning visit to Buddha Dordenma, one of the tallest statues of Buddha in all of Asia. After breakfast, you will leave the city behind as you embark on a full-day sightseeing tour in the lush Thimphu valley.

Begin the tour with a visit to National Memorial Chorten, The building of this landmark was envisaged by the third king, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, as a monument to world peace and prosperity.
Next, visit Gagyel Lhundrup Weaving Centre. This private weaving centre frequently creates ceremonial textiles for Bhutanese royals. A visit to the post office to see Bhutan's stamps then personalize your own!
After lunch, you'll also visit Institute for Zorig Chusum, the National Library, and Tashichho Dzong, the fortress of the glorious religion.
Day 9. Thimphu - Punakha
Rise and shine! It's time to journey to Punakha, with a visit to Dochu-la pass en route!Â
After you've checked into your new accommodation in Punakha, you'll visit the Chimi Lhakhang, the auspicious fertility monastery built in 1499 and a temple dedicated to the Divine Madman", an eccentric monk from the 16th century famous for many his many amusing, Rabelaisian folklore stories. After, make one final sightseeing stop for today at one of the most beautiful fortresses in Bhutan - Punakha Dzong.

Visit to the Dochu-la pass (en-route to Punakha)
Stop briefly at Dochu-la pass to take in the view and admire the chortens, Mani walls, and prayer flags which decorate the highest point on the road. If skies are clear, the high Himalayan peaks towards the northeast will be revealed in all their glory. On a clear day, the following peaks can be seen from this pass (left to right): Masagang, Tsendegang, Terigang, Jejegangphugang, Kangphugang, Zongaphugang, a table mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana, and finally, Gangkar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan!
Day 10. Punakha - Paro
Leave Thimphu valley and drive along the scenic highway to the charming town of Paro, stopping at Nalanda Buddhist Institute on the way. Then, visit the National Museum.
Later in the evening, visit the 7th-century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built in the Himalayas by the Tibetan king, Songtsen Gampo. The building of this temple marks the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan.

Nalanda Buddhist Institute is a truly spiritual place. It is considered to be very holy by the Bhutanese. This is where you will have the opportunity to spend some quality time interacting with the monks who have devoted their life to spirituality and Buddhism. Even if you are not a religious person, you will appreciate not only the location but the peace of this unique place.
Day 11. Paro
Today will you go on an excursion to Taktshang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. Wear your best hiking shoes as you walk up the steep cliff. In the evening, stroll down Main Street and see if you can catch a show!

Take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche, founding father of the Bhutanese form of Mahayana Buddhism, arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at its monastery. The main structure was severely damaged by fire in 1998, but after many years of painstaking restoration work, the complex has now been fully restored to its former glory.
Day 12. Paro - Delhi
Transfer to the Paro airport for your flight back to Delhi. Once you've arrived, check into your final hotel and spend the rest of the day at-leisure.Â
