Day 1. Welcome to Reykjavik!
Upon arrival in Reykjavik, pick up your rental car and start your Iceland experience! From Keflavik International Airport drive the southern coast of the Reykjanes Peninsula towards your first overnight stay in the charming village of Hveragerdi.
The village is one of the few sites in the world located directly on top of a geothermal area, and because of its many greenhouses heated by hot water from nearby springs, it is often called the flower village.

Check-in - Hotel Ork Hveragerdi
Hotel Ork offers friendly accommodations in the midst of beautiful surroundings. It features 76 spacious and well-appointed guestrooms, an outdoor swimming pool with waterslide, 9-hole golf course, geothermal sauna, hot tubs, spa services and more. The restaurant offers healthy and wholesome Icelandic cuisine, sourced from the onsite geothermally heated greenhouses.
Day 2. South Coast
Today you’ll see such highlights of the South Coast as the majestic Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss Waterfalls, the infamous Eyjafjallajokull Glacier and the surrounding area affected by the volcanic eruption of 2010.
From there, visit Dyrholaey,* a rocky headland characterized by a black lava arch. Every year thousands of sea birds, and puffins nest here during the summer. (Puffins are generally in Iceland between mid-May and early August) *Important: Please note that Dyrholaey is closed during nesting season, from about the middle of May until late June.

Check-in - Hotel Vik
Situated in the village of Vik in Myrdalur Valley, Icelandair Hotel Vik is a charming hotel surrounded by magnificent natural beauty. Enjoy stunning views as you look out over the beach, the sea, and the Reynisdrangar Pillars. You'll be a stone's throw away from the spectacular cliffs and puffins of Mt. Reynisfjall, while Myrdalsjokull Glacier offers up plenty of adventure. Each of the 46 elegant rooms in the main building is decorated with Icelandic design and inspired by the natural environment along with 32 small economy rooms in the old wing. Enjoy happy hour from 4 to 6pm and sit down to a delicious meal at Berg Restaurant.
Day 3. Vik - Skaftafell - Glacial Lagoon - Vik
Visit the awe-inspiring Skaftafell National Park (Europe’s largest national park), which is set between glaciers and offers many hiking possibilities.
Continue to the shimmering icebergs of Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon before returning to the charming village of Vik in the afternoon.

Day 4. Vik - Thingvellir - Borgarfjordur
After breakfast, drive to Thingvellir National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), site of the ancient Icelandic parliament and a jewel of nature. Known as the National Park of Geological Wonders, it is situated in a stunning volcanic landscape of mountains and lava flows, on the edge of Iceland's largest lake.
Continue to Borgarfjordur fjord and visit the historic site of Reykholt, the remarkably beautiful Hraunfoss and Barnafoss Waterfalls and Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in Europe.

Check-in - Hotel Hamar
At Hotel Hamar you can relax and rejuvenate in peace and tranquility, with every comfort available. Golfers can enjoy the Hamar golf course, considered one of the best outside of Reykjavik. Those who do not play golf can enjoy an exciting day of sightseeing, whale watching, snowmobiling or hiking. Each of the 44 guestrooms in this single-story hotel have doors that open directly onto the grounds, allowing fantastic access and views as you relax in privacy. Enjoy magnificent views of the Borgarfjordur Fjord while you indulge in delicious, locally-sourced meals at the hotel restaurant, and make the most of the beautiful location with a drink on the veranda at the hotel bar.
Day 5. Borgarfjordur - West Iceland
Today you can explore the countless natural wonders of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Visit Arnarstapi sea cliffs with its varied birdlife and the rocky beach of Djupalonssandur, before driving along the north coast through lively fishing villages.
In Stykkisholmur you could join a boat tour in Breidafjordur Bay (approximately 2 hours, at an extra cost) to admire the area’s rich birdlife and sealife. During the boat tour a shellfish plough is lowered into the ocean and a wonderful selection of shellfish and sea life is caught for viewing and tasting: scallops, sea urchins, crabs, starfish, sea cucumbers and much more.

Day 6. Reykjanes Peninsula - Rekjyavik
As you head back towards Reykjavik, drive to the Reykjanes Peninsula and visit the moon-like surroundings of Lake Kleifarvatn and the Krysuvik geothermal area with bubbling mud pools.
Visit Grindavik fishing village and perhaps the famous Blue Lagoon, for a relaxing dip in the pleasantly warm geothermal waters, rich in silica and minerals that are great for the skin (visit to the Blue Lagoon is not included, and would be at an additional cost). Upon arrival in Reykjavik, enjoy free time exploring the city. Note: The Blue Lagoon must be booked in advance.

Day 7. Depart Iceland
Your exploration of southern and western Iceland comes to an end today. At the appropriate time, return to Keflavik International Airport to return your rental car*; or, if you’ve already returned your car, return to the airport by shuttle transfer.
